Arm Care:
- Technique, core fitness, arm and shoulder care for the young pitching athlete.
- Players improve balance, stamina, explosiveness, and self-confidence.
- Stretching exercises and strength training for pitchers
- Proper warm-up and cool-down technique
- Emphasis is on building a safe and repeatable motion, developing command of the strike zone, and a change-up that can be thrown for strikes.
Technique:
- Pitching mechanics from the windup. corrective drills for mechanical faults
- Pitching from the set position: controlling the running game
- Throwing the fastball: grips and techniques to develop velocity.
- Control drills: verbalization, visualization and making adjustments for location.
- Throwing the curve ball and changeup.
- Technique drills: form throwing progressions and long toss techniques
- Development of a second or third pitch
- Development of poise and mental toughness
- Extensive use of videotape analysis
